Hey hey my Cozy Companions! I hope you are having an amazing week! It is so close to the weekend! I can taste it! I know…a little weird, but that’s me!
Today I am going to be sharing with you an amazing Valentine’s Day Collaboration I did with Lisa London! She is one of the most sweetest and caring people I have ever had the chance to meet with on Booktube! I love her!
She is mostly a romance reader and author! When she contacted me about exchanging THREE romance novels with each other I JUMPED at the chance! How cool is that!?! Of course, I sent her three of my favorite Cozy Mystery romances which you will have to see on her channel, linked here!
Aaron and I actually celebrate Valentine’s Day a day late every year. We love being able to choose our own day, when the lines have died down, and when we can get The Melting Pot totally to our selves.

She sent me three books, that normally would not have been on my radar, but that I was thrilled that she sent for me to check out.
This is a wonderful little Cozy Mystery with a sprinkle *GET IT?!* of Romance!
Lacey Luzzi’s rollercoaster of a life has been filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. She just never expected the lows to be so… sparkly.
After falling on her face during an attempt to follow in her recently-deceased mother’s stripper-boots, Lacey realizes she’s not cut out for life on stage. She sets out on a year-long investigation to find her true family, never expecting she’ll find it with a capital “F.”
With a rumbling stomach, a need for money (check engine lights don’t fix themselves!), and a conscience that operates at 78% on a good day, Lacey is sucked into a whirlwind of Family secrets, hard-as-cement cookies, and mysterious, sexy men who unfortunately shoot guns, sometimes aimed at her face. The long-lost-granddaughter of Carlos Luzzi, the Godfather of the Italian Mafia, Lacey accepts her first assignment for the mob: finding fifteen million dollars of ‘the good stuff.’
Even after she enlists the help of her mouthy best-friend and her cousin, a technical genius and social disaster, she finds that going toe-to-toe with the rival Russian mob is more dangerous than expected. No one chooses their Family, but Lacey Luzzi will be lucky if she can survive hers.
This book was actually not something that I would read on a normal basis, actually…I didn’t finish it. I couldn’t get past how crappy and self involved the main character was. I actually wanted to punch her in the face….repeatedly.
The book started off with this, ”
I, Lilith Straight, was the woman you always wanted to be. I was married to someone better looking than your husband, we lived in that house you always wanted. Within a year, however, all of that changed. My marriage dissolved, my house burned down, and my job hardly paid the bills. So when I was hit by a car and died, I thought my life couldn’t get any worse. Boy, was I wrong.
Hell was not the place I imagined. It was worse. During my brief stay, I learned some disturbing truths about my family. Most worryingly my ancestor’s deal with the devil promising him every female descendent as a succubus.
So these were my options: Life on earth as a soul-sucking seductress. Or death and pass the succubus baton to my sweet little daughter. There was no choice. Welcome to hell on earth, Lilith. Mother, teacher, wanton she-demon.”:
High school Courtny would have LOVED this book series! It really reminded me of the Highlander Series by Karen Marie Moning. If you like those books you would most definitely love this book as well.
“It began nearly four hundred years ago. The Conall clan and all their people were murdered in a surprise attack, their beloved castle and all evidence of who destroyed them burned to the ground with their bodies. In the centuries following, archaeologists searched through the ruins looking for any evidence of what or who had caused the untimely demise of such a powerful Scottish clan. All efforts were fruitless, until a spell put in place by an ancient Conall ancestor finally began to work its magic…
Texas kindergarten teacher, Brielle Montgomery, finds comfort in the mundane routines of her life, but when her archaeologist mother asks her to accompany her on a dig in Scotland, she decides to step out of her comfort zone. Once in Scotland, they discover a secret spell room below the castle ruins, and Bri finds herself transported back in time and suddenly married to the castle’s ill-fated Laird. Now, she must work to change the fate of his people, all while trying to find a way to return to her home and century. But with each passing day, Bri finds herself falling more deeply in love with her new husband. If she can find a spell to bring her home, will she use it? And if she stays, will it ultimately mean her own death as well?”
